Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Alexander Solzhenitsyn – A Biography by M Scammel

I bought this in a second-hand bookshop in Madison. It seemed to be complete and authoritative and well written. I enjoyed it.

It rekindled an interest in Solzhenitsyn which I had read a lot when I was younger and the Gulag.

I read this on vacation and remember sitting outside a tent reading it while my ex-wife was also reading her book. It seemed like a happy time.
