Berlin: The Downfall 1945 by Antony Beevor
I’ve read this before, but read it again on a trip to Berlin.
Yes, this is another war book, but an important story. I think it is intrinsically quite complicated, so this is harder book for an author to organize, e.g. harder than the story of Stalingrad. Still I found it useful and would recommend it. It’s interesting to see the fanaticism of the foreign fascists e.g. the Belgians. Also, the whole idea of Hitler making the Nazi state fight on until it was completely annihilated is fascinating and horrifying. This would go with the film Downfall (but don’t watch the parodies).
