Blood and Iron: the German Conquest of Sebastopol by C.G. Sweeting

This was a readable account of a campaign in WW2 on the Eastern Front. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit militaristic.

Operation Albion: The German Conquest of the Baltic Islands by Michael Barrett

I bought this in a bookshop near Leicester Square. It was a good read on a little known (to me) campaign in WW1.

Britain’s Shield Radar and the Defeat of the Luftwaffe by David Zimmerman

I bought this in a bookshop near Leicester Square while staying in London to go to a Becket play; the last time I would ever make a trip like this.

It was interesting, reviewing the creation of the radar defence as a system (rather than focussing on the technology). It also described Churchill misconceived intervention, driven partly by his relationship with Lindemann.
